On March 19, 2021, the Wall Street Journal featured an op-ed by former Department of Transportation Deputy Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology Diana Furchtgott-Roth on the vulnerabilities of GPS.
In the op-ed, Furchtgott-Roth urges the Department of Transportation and Congress to act on the recommendations of a recent DOT report on GPS alternatives. She states that multiple technologies should be used to complement GPS, and highlights how NextNav performed particularly well in urban areas with its TerraPoiNT terrestrial network service of long range broadcast beacons.
