Position Summary: 

The NOC and Manufacturing support engineer will be responsible for attending to any issues escalated from the Network Operations Center or manufacturing. Additionally, this position requires hand on ability to root cause and conduct failure analysis of field returns. Provide problem resolution and build knowledge base to address equipment, NMS tools and network issues. Learn and adopt to software tools developed by NextNav.

Essential Functions: 

Support Manufacturing test operations
Debug PCBA and system tests failures.
Conduct sensor board calibration; temperature, pressure cycling.
Setup ATE equipment, and train operators on system ATE.
Document / Update test procedures and manufacturing instructions.

Manage your assigned ticketing NOC queue:
Professional, timely and detailed updates within all tickets assigned.
Properly set next steps for each ticket that allows for peers, supervisors or NOC manager to identify the progress of each ticket.
Utilize the NextNav system knowledge and RF or network Element management skills to diagnose problems
Be able to utilize multiple GUI and CLI platforms to determine the next steps within the troubleshooting paradigm.
Be able to speak professionally to both technical and non-technical personnel to ensure them that issues will be resolved.
Knowledge transfer to NOC colleagues; updates all members of the NOC and Field Operations on any learned technical issues and/or solutions

RMA and product repairs.
Debug and confirm failure on all returned items.
Validate FRU product issues, implement work arounds, document field fixes, confirm resolution with vendors and complete warranty claims as needed.
Conduct or direct repair as appropriate. Work with vendors to resolve issues.
Update records on tickets with root cause analysis and establish knowledge base.
Follow up with field staff and support spare parts availability as needed.

Education, Experience, Skills and Attributes: 

Desired Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering discipline preferred Strong network troubleshooting, process workflow and communication.
• Familiar with Linux OS, SQL and Python.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing network analytical tasks.
• Experience in people-management and conflict resolution.
• Must have very strong problem-solving skills.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a Network Operations Center or Electronics Manufacturing test and repair is required.
• Must have the ability to communicate with a broad spectrum of engineers, project coordinators and field staff.
• Organized, detail oriented and ability to work under pressure of deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with executives, engineers, vendors and peers.
