On December 17th, 2025, NextNav’s VP of Government Affairs, Edward Mortimer, participated in a live panel hosted by Broadband Breakfast on the “12 Days of Broadband Covered Spectrum, AI Infrastructure, BEAD and Affordability“. The panel discussed the top stories from the year and took a look at what’s ahead for 2026.
In discussing important events from the year, Mortimer highlighted the need for a resilient PNT system of systems, “GPS controls a lot of our lives. From our phone for navigation, to timing for the energy grid, for agriculture, to transportation, to the financial industry – it’s so critical to our economy, and to not have resiliency in that is something that Chairman Carr has highlighted. We are behind the eight ball. China is way ahead of us.“
