How NextNav
uses AWS
AWS gives NextNav the flexibility it needs to meet growing customer demand in several verticals. Regulatory requirements and privacy statutes require NextNav to process vertical location data from different users in separate, walled-off environments. In AWS, this is as simple as creating services in parallel instances through Amazon ECR. AWS Elastic Beanstalk also helps NextNav orchestrate vertical location across these different environments, providing consistent performance to every customer.
NextNav also uses AWS IoT to process and manage inbound data from altitude stations. The responsiveness and resilience of AWS IoT allows for high performance even in rapidly changing barometric conditions – a critical driver of the accuracy that drives value for NextNav’s customers.
Data analysis plays a key role in the resilience and accuracy of NextNav’s vertical location service. NextNav is constantly poring over a complicated stream of sensor and environmental data to ensure high performance at scale. AWS MSK is critical to this data analysis, providing the infrastructure to gather and process meaningful insights from a wide variety of data sources.
