On July 9, 2025, NextNav filed a supplemental report with the Federal Communications Commission reaffirming that 5G operations can coexist with unlicensed devices across the entire Lower 900 MHz band. The new filing supports and validates the conclusions of NextNav’s comprehensive technical study filed in February 2025, providing additional analysis that confirms the soundness of its methodology and findings. The full report can be found here

Along with the filing, NextNav released the following statement from Renee Gregory, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs:

Some unlicensed commenters opposing NextNav’s proposal have advanced misconceptions that do not hold up to rigorous, fact-based technical analysis. NextNav’s supplemental technical filing confirms that 5G operations will not cause unacceptable levels of interference to unlicensed Part 15 devices in the lower 900 MHz band, and that unlicensed operations can continue to operate across the entire lower 900 MHz band. The FCC has a near-term opportunity to advance a market-based, terrestrial backup and complement to GPS. Today’s filing further demonstrates NextNav’s commitment to ensuring that this proceeding is guided by facts, sound engineering, and rigorous technical analysis.”
